Animals are more tolerant to cold and wind than people, but it's still important to make sure they're well cared for when the weather becomes severe.

How much protection?

How much protection your pets and livestock need really depends on the type of animal. Pigs need to be in a well-sealed building, especially piglets. Horses, sheep, and goats really just need a protected area where they can get out of the wind and rain. Cattle can take the cold better than other types of livestock.
