Baby snapping turtles

These are so cute! For now.
My friend Jennifer Erickson took these photos of newly-hatched snapping turtles wandering across her driveway in Minnesota. She picked them up and took them down to the nearby lake. She saw the huge mother (or father; she didn’t get close enough to tell) several times this year, on the road and in the water.
I’m not sure I would swim in that lake next summer.
