It’s holiday treat time and the office is full of random goodies. Today someone brought in liver-cheese dip. Be still my heart (literally). It reminds me of liverwurst sandwiches Mom used to put in my school lunch. She thought I needed extra iron. We also ate beef heart and tongue growing up, and a tongue sandwich was occasionally in my lunch bag. I digress. Mom’s Christmas specialty is fruitcake, which some people put in the same taste category as organ meats, but not me. Her fruitcake is delicious.
