Bob and I returned last night from a wonderful trip to Maryland. We couldn’t talk about it while we were traveling because we left Caroline and Michelle alone to do all the farm chores in Iowa. The house is intact and all the animals are alive, so job well done! Those teenage girls are awesome. In fact, I didn’t even worry about them while we were gone. I sent one text message each night asking if everything was okay, and Caroline texted back: “Yep.” That was enough.
In Maryland Bob helped Dad in the shop and fields. They also went to auctions, bringing back a wide assortments of “treasures.” I spent precious girl time with Mom and my sister, Molly. We visited museums and ate, ate, ate. We also did a lot of vacation reading by the fire. Here are book recommendations:
The Maryland farm last Saturday.
The snow was gone quickly. This is Dad’s latest remodeling project.
Mom sits on some of Dad’s auction finds. These chairs came from Longwood Gardens. We didn’t look under the tarp…
Bob helps Dad tie up the raspberries.
You can’t beat a good vacation nap. That’s Bob’s latest favorite book: Methland.
Enjoying time with some of my dearest high school friends.
