Snickers salad

October 20, 2010

Is it a salad? Is it a dessert? Who cares … it’s delicious! Snickers salad has been making the rounds at family reunions and potluck dinners for a while now, but I just made it for the first time and couldn’t believe how easy it is! Honestly, the hardest part is stopping yourself from eating all the Snickers bars before they go in the salad!

Just take a large box of vanilla pudding mix, and prepare as directed in a large bowl. Add a large tub of whipped topping, and combine with the pudding. Cut up three large tart apples like Granny Smith, and toss them in right away. Then, add either a bag of fun-sized Snickers bars or cut up three regular sized bars and add them to the mix.

Of course there’s nothing you can do about the calories in the candy bars, but you can lighten this recipe up a bit by using fat free/sugar free pudding and whipped topping.

If you find yourself left with extra bags of candy bars after Halloween, this would be a great way to put them to use! Enjoy!
