Easy outdoor coffee table
This DIY coffee table for your patio could not be easier! Simply stack two painted pallets, use metal plates and screws to attach them to each other, and place cement patio blocks under each corner. For an added touch, this table has a hole cut in the top of the pallet, sized for a potted plant to rest inside.

Upgraded coffee table
Take the pallet coffee table up a notch with just a few simple additions. Screw casters to the bottom so the table can easily be moved around your patio or porch. To create a smooth, food-friendly surface, have your local hardware store cut a piece of plexiglas to fit on top. Place screws through the corners, or use an adhesive to attach it.

Build a pallet potting bench
This handy potting bench was made from just a couple of pallets, some spare scraps of wood, screws, and hardware like hooks for hanging tools. For an added bit of usefulness, cut a hole in the top that a bin would fit inside, and fill with dirt to use when potting plants.

Recycled compost bin
Creating your own compost bin using free, recyled materials like pallets just makes sense for the environment! To create one out of three pallets, create two corners for your pallet compost bin using 4x4s. Secure the pallets to the back corners using heavy-duty wire. If needed, add front pieces to secure the open corners. The double bin shown here was made from five pallets and three 4x4s.

Pallet plant wall
This living screen is easy to build, and creates privacy on you patio or separates outdoor living areas. The "frames" on either end of the screen have chicken wire attached to the back, perfect for vines to climb. Pallet boards connect the frames, with small planter boxes (also made from pallet boards) attached at varying heights.

Outdoor dining table
Pallets come in many different sizes, so you can use the wood however you'd like to create a table sized perfectly for you. This table rests on an A-frame for added support in the center. The top is simply pallet boards screwed to the top and bottom of 2x4s. Remember to thoroughly clean pallet wood, especially before using it to serve food.

Pallet art
Create your own work of art with pallets! If necessary, add boards to your pallet to eliminate too much extra space between them. Clean and dry the wood, sand, and paint with an outdoor acrylic basecoat. Once that's dry, get creative! Use an oversized stencil, or just freehand a butterfly, dragonfly, or whatever you like! Get the kids involved and let them get creative. Attach eye-hook screws to the top corner of each painted pallet, and run wire between them. Hang from a shed wall or fence.

Modern retro room
This cool room is full of upcycled items, but a funky lamp and interesting comforter keep it modern. Instead of using a boring bed frame, this mattress rests on two layers of pallets. For a full-sized bed, you'll need eight 40x38-inch pallets. Simply clean, paint, stack, and secure them together. The headboard is made from an old piece of barn board, partially painted, and the clever nightstands are mailing tubes lashed together with rope and topped with a round piece of glass.
