Gayle shared photos of the process, from beginning to end! 02 of 09 50-year-old bin gets a makeover Gayle says the bin was originally constructed in the late 60s. The first step in deconstruction was removing the fan, motor, stirator, and floor. Then, the bin was lowered and the rings removed. 03 of 09 Putting the top down Once the top ring and roof were on the ground, the Voepels gave their future gazebo roof a fresh coat of paint. 04 of 09 Raising the roof The roof was raised, and support timbers were put in place. Since a cement pad already existed for the grain bin, the gazebo was placed in the same location. 05 of 09 Ready for the railing Once the support beams were in place, the cross beams and railing were added, along with wrought iron pickets. 06 of 09 Placing the pebble The existing concrete was capped and stamped, and an entrance ramp was added. "And, of course, my rock (or pebble) was placed," Gayle says. 07 of 09 Future BBQ A roof was added over the former motor/fan pad area. Doug plans to build a fireplace and BBQ here. 08 of 09 Making it homey Next, the Voepels added a fire pit next to the 'binzebo' and some outdoor furniture. They also hung a swing and completed lighting and electrical work. The family may add to the bin in the future, but they are currently enjoying their beautiful getaway! 09 of 09 DIY pool bar The Voepels' DIY creativity doesn't end at their magnificent binzebo!
