Winterizing the barn
Living the Country Life Radio Program
Barns are built to last for decades and withstand the elements, but winter is hard on outdoor structures, especially old ones. You'll obviously want to replace boards and doors that are damaged, but you may not want the barn to be completely air tight. If livestock are housed inside, you'll need ventilation to maintain good air quality. In addition to checking the exterior, examine electrical wiring and lighting to make sure everything is in good shape.
