All Around the Homestead

ATV buckets
I was tired of buckets of feed sliding on my ATV, so I came up with a simple device. Nail or screw three bucket lids to a piece of plywood and set the buckets on the lids to prevent them from sliding. The plywood is held in place by a pin.

Composter
I developed a composter using a 55-gallon plastic drum. I cut off the bottom, drilled eight holes about 2 inches in diameter, drilled half-inch holes through four pieces of PVC pipe for ventilation, and slid the pipes into the drum holes.

Hose holder
My hose was always popping out of the livestock tanks when I filled them. I now loop the hose through the two holes of a brick and drop the brick in the tank.

Tree protection
My husband cut 9-inch lengths of discarded PVC pipe and slit sections down the side to pry open and place around new fruit trees. This stymied the rabbits and other chewing animals.
