Helpful fencing tools

Living the Country Life Radio Program

Whether you want to help contain livestock or simply provide a clear definition of your property boundaries, building a fence isn't as difficult as you might think. The key is having access to the right tools. Start with heavy leather gloves to protect your hands, then pick up a pair of fencing pliers to let you quickly cut wire and drive staples. Clam shell diggers will make it easier to dig post holes, but look for a heavy duty commercial set instead of the lightweight versions marketed to homeowners. The lightweight version requires more physical energy to get the job done, which can be a significant drawback if you don't have several strong teenage boys available to help with the project.
