Herb container gardens
Living the Country Life Radio Program
Fresh herbs make it easy to prepare flavorful meals, but finding the right herbs for your favorite dishes can be a challenge during the winter months. Luckily, it's easy to start your own indoor herb container garden to ensure a supply of fresh herbs throughout the year. Thyme, rosemary, chives, parsley, and basil will all grow well when placed in a four-inch plastic pot in a sunny area of your home. If you don't want to start your herb garden from scratch, look for seedlings at your local nursery or garden center. Many businesses will slash prices on leftover plants before icy weather hits.
