Making a fun terrarium is surprisingly simple if you have the right ingredients and follow a layered approach. Let us break it down for you!

Making a terrarium is as easy as combining layers of various materials and plants with similar water and light requirements. Start with a layer of gravel for drainage, add a thin layer of activated charcoal to prevent algae, then a layer of sphagnum moss for both drainage and to keep the soil from muddying up the gravel. Next, add a good fluffy layer of potting soil, some small-scale plants, and embellish with stones, moss, small figures or whatever makes you happy.
