Planting ornamental grasses
Living the Country Life Radio Program
If you're looking for landscaping that's both attractive and low-maintenance, nothing beats planting ornamental grasses. Hearty, thick, designed to withstand the elements, and unappealing to deer, ornamental grasses are often the ideal solution for challenging yard and garden areas. Since there are over 200 different varieties of ornamental grasses, however, it may take you awhile to choose one that's right for your area. You'll want to consider whether you plan to use the grass to provide groundcover, offer erosion control, or simply as a vertical design element. It's also a good idea to research which types of grasses are native to your location.
