Lavender Grosso

Lavandula x intermedia "grosso" is one of the most fragrant of Lavenders and is grown for scenting perfumes and aromatherapy oils. With its long spikes of deep violet blossoms, this heavy-blooming variety is ideal for making dried lavender bundles. As a culinary herb, the savory addition of its flowers bring out the best in meat dishes. It works well with simple boiled potatoes, too. Combine with a French thyme, rosemary "arp" and golden sage to create a delicious grilling rub.
