Establishing a vineyard
Living the Country Life Radio Program
Growing grapes to make your own wine is a romantic notion, but it's also a tremendous amount of work. Have a professional help you determine if you've got the right type of land for a vineyard. Then, if you're up to the task, talk to someone at your local USDA Rural Development office. Grants are available for planning new ventures and for processing and marketing value-added agricultural products, like grapes and wine.
Radio interview source: Larry Engbers, owner, Black Creek Vineyard
