Choosing a meat smoker
Living the Country Life Radio Program
Smoking uses low temperatures and long cooking times to add flavor and turn even the worst cuts of meat into a wonderful meal. Although it is possible to smoke meat on your backyard grill, there are many options available for those who wish to purchase a meat smoker. The first step is to decide what heat source you'd like to use: charcoal, gas, or electricity. All give the same moist and tender results, but charcoal smokers are portable and relatively inexpensive. In comparison, electric or gas smokers are known for their ability to maintain a steady temperature throughout the cooking process.
