Winter recreation possibilities
It's hard to imagine an acreage anywhere that offers more winter recreation possibilities than the Harsin place, a picture-postcard setting nestled in the rolling bluffs above the Missouri River near Blair, Nebraska.

Zach and Drew Harsin play a game of one-on-one ice hockey on the acreage pond.
On one chilly February Saturday, Darren and Sue Harsin and their sons, Zach, Josh and Drew, played ice hockey, sledded, jogged, hiked and rode horseback.
An armload of rocks the size of cantaloupes were retrieved from the edge of the frozen pond, then placed -- two at each end of the ice -- for makeshift goals. A tennis ball served as a puck. Boots became skates.

Sue Harsin takes Jill, one of the family's two horses, for a ride around the pasture.
