BLOW that snow!

Large drift or small, these tractor snowblower attachments will get the job done.

Front- and rear-mounted

With the white stuff prepared to drop from the sky any day now, it's time to study the array of tractor snowblower attachments. Ideal for compact tractors with roughly 18 hp. to 45 hp., most attachments carry similar specifications and features. Front-mounted snowblowers will typically attach using a quick-attach subframe system. Once the subframe is applied, you can easily attach and detach the blower with no tools. Rear-mounted blowers attach to the tractor's three-point hitch. While operating a snowblower behind the tractor may be awkward, the front-end loader, if equipped, will be free for other uses.

Two-Stage Operation
Both front- and rear-mounted snowblowers use a two-stage design. This allows you to clear many types of snow, from fluffy to hardpacked. During stage one, an auger bites into the snow and breaks it up. In stage two, the impeller picks up the snow and blows it out the chute.

Nearly every snowblower attachment will come standard with helpful features, including manual chute rotation, replaceable and reversible cutting edges for long life and easy maintenance, and shear bolt protection. But many companies offer optional features. A hydraulic chute rotator, for example, will turn the chute without requiring you to turn a crank. Instead, a joystick does all the work. And an electric chute deflector allows you to control the direction of the blown snow without leaving your tractor seat.
