Snowmobile safety for kids

Teenagers aren't allowed to drive a car until somewhere around age 16, depending on the state. But when it comes to snowmobiles, some parents assume it's OK for their tweens and teens to go for a spin. That may not be the case. Several states recommend or even require training for young riders. The American Academy of Pediatrics says children under 16 should not operate snowmobiles, and children under the age of 6 should not be allowed to ride as passengers.
