When you have a pond on your acreage, the fun doesn't have to stop when the temperatures drop. Ice fishing, skating, and even a friendly game of hockey are all great ways to spend time with your family outdoors in the winter. But even if the weather has been cold, that doesn't necessarily mean the ice on your pond is safe. There are several ways to determine whether it's safe to go out on the ice, including spot drilling and examining the ice color and structure. Once you've done a thorough check, bundle up, lace up your skates, and have fun!
