The rural real estate market in this country is growing stronger every year. There are several factors -- outlined in today's show -- that are causing rural land values to rise. So if you're looking to purchase an acreage, don't expect to find the discounts being offered in town. And if you already own land in the country, you've likely made a good investment.

Farmland value boom continues: In the fourth quarter of 2007, cropland prices continued to rise, beating out the highs from the previous year.

Federal Reserve System: Link to your region's Federal Reserve bank for information about land value trends in your area.

Land values and cash rents: The USDA's National Agricultural Statistics Service offers maps that detail cropland values, pasture values, and land rent values for each state.
