Choosing the right shovel

Living the Country Life Radio Program

A shovel is a shovel, right? Not so. Take a trip to your local hardware store, and you'll find racks of shovels of nearly every size and shape imaginable. Before you start filling your cart, though, think about how you plan to use the shovel. Would a long or short handle work better? Do you need a square, sharp or rounded blade? Should you consider an ergonomic design? Do your research before you're tempted by all the shiny shovels at the hardware store, and you'll be one happy customer!
