Attracting trumpeter swans
Living the Country Life Radio Program
Did you know that the trumpeter swan is the largest species of waterfowl in North America? If you have a pond in your backyard, you may be able to convince these majestic migrating birds to use your acreage as a rest stop. The easiest way to do this is by planting vegetation near your pond that appeals to trumpeter swans. You can also try setting out feeders with cracked corn or layer pellets for the swans to use as a nutritional supplement. Once you've attracted trumpeter swans to your pond, however, you'll have to enjoy them from a distance. The birds are generally not fond of human attention.
